Woodworking has been a part of our family for well longer than I can remember with my dad and his dad before him both being craftsmen. I started making sawdust just as a hobby and relief from the highly technical and analytical career field I'm in. And I'm excited to have the opportunity to share the hobby with you.
I don't "design" any of my pieces. This is a very creative and intuitive process for me. I purchase my wood mostly online and once it's on the lathe and the dust is flying, I can normally carve out an appealing shape, function is totally optional.
I love the feel of wood under my fingertips and thoroughly enjoy the process of giving it form.
I no longer stain or color any of my pieces and everything on this site is naturally colored except the eggs and the table I burned with a torch. Most of my pieces are finished with a simple oil or paste-wax and unless specifically noted are not food-safe. I have had no success in selling my pieces so I've closed my Etsy store and now just give them away to friends and family.
I would truly love to hear from you; any comments, questions, ideas, or just to chat.
Also if you'd like to be notified when I update the site, I'm starting a list and am happy to add you. Promise I won't spam you or sell your address.
